Every 4 years, our Hellenic Dance Festival offers youth of the Metropolis of Atlanta an experience to learn the beauty of our Faith and Culture by traveling to Greece for 10 days. Participants will travel as a group and participate in Dance Workshops, Performances, Village Panigyris, and visit various Cultural & Historical Sites. This trip will allow interested teens an opportunity to experience Greece as a local. By having our annual HDF, the Odyssey program covers the cost for the land travel while we are in Greece, covering hotels, most meals, tour guides, transportation, workshops, etc.
There are several purposes of this program. This opportunity is meant to inspire our young people to value and contribute to cultural opportunities by experience traditional Greek folk dance in its natural setting. Participants can gain a deeper appreciation for our Hellenic Culture and rich Orthodox faith and tradition.
Odyssey Scholarships are offered to individuals who are dedicated to the ideals and mission of the Hellenic Dance Festival. Following the Odyssey journey, participants are expected to share their experience and knowledge with others. They should be active participants in the local parishes, as well as the Metropolis sponsored HDF weekend and beyond.
All current High School Students (graduating seniors allowed) in the Metropolis of Atlanta were invited to apply.
Congratulations to the 2023 Odyssey Recipients!
