To the Reverend Clergy, Parish Council Presidents & Members, and all the faithful of the Metropolis of Atlanta:
My Beloved in the Lord,
I greet you with love and joy in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As we look forward to this coming Saturday's Archangel Michael Feast and Honors Banquet, the Metropolis is equally blessed to come together in the preceding days, and discuss important developments in the life of our Church.
Among these gatherings is the annual Vicars meeting, where the designated Clergy representatives for each of the 7 Metropolis Conferences come together to share news, ideas and other important matters.
In recognition of the new Ecclesiastical Year, and understanding that each Priest has their own unique God-given abilities, I am pleased to announce that 5 of our 7 Conferences have been appointed new Vicars. The following Vicars have been sought because it is necessary to allow for dialogues of different ideas, ministries and programs to strengthen the life of the Church. To the outgoing Vicars, I thank you for your dedicated service, and I am certain that your selfless and humble examples will serve as a positive inspiration for the new (& remaining Vicars) who will surely strive to meet them.
In the North Eastern Florida Conference, Fr. Joseph Samaan will take the place of Fr. Nick Louh.
In the Coastal Conference, Fr. Michael Platanis will take the place of Fr. Tom Pistolis.
In the Central Conference, Fr. Paul Kaplanis will take the place of Fr. Panagiotis Papageorgiou.
Fr. Sarantis Loulakis will assume the Vicarship of the North Eastern Conference.
In the the Western Florida Conference, Father Athanasios Haros will assume the place of Fr. James Rousakis.
Fr. Matthew Carter will remain Vicar of the Western Conference
And Fr. Spiro Bobotas will remain Vicar of the South Eastern Florida Conference.
Thanking our previous Vicars for their loving kindness, and our new Vicars for rising to meet these opportunities, may God’s grace fill their hearts with joy, and their days with health and blessings!
Offering prayers and best wishes for good health and a blessed Archangel Michael Weekend, I remain,
Yours with paternal blessings and with love in Christ, + A L E X I O S Metropolitan of Atlanta
