Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church

Macon, GA

The Holy Cross parish of Macon, Georgia, was established in 1976 in a joint effort by existing Greek Orthodox parishioners. The parish began by holding meetings in homes of parishioners and holding liturgies at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Macon. During this time, Father Panos Constantinides and later Father Homer Goumenis, both of Annuncation Cathedral in Atlanta ministered to the Orthodox faithful of middle Georgia. Father Iulian Damian is the current parish priest.

Holy Cross serves 80 parish family members across Middle Georgia. The parish is planning to build a larger church hall, classrooms, a kitchen, and other facilities.

Through donations this parish offers assistance to the local Food Bank, the Renche Mission, the Salvation Army, and other charitable organizations.

Holy Cross would like to be noted as a church which is preserving the Greek Orthodox Tradition. It is a very close parish family, which stands ready to minister to the needs of one another and to non-Orthodox.
